Phuket City Guide

After Chiang Mai, we headed to Phuket for some R&R. Phuket is Thailand's largest (& most touristy) island. This is where you see the crazy rock formations coming out of the sea and where the James Bond movie, The Man With The Golden Gun was filmed. After being around the hustle and bustle of the city, I was so excited to be heading to the beach.

Of all the places in Thailand, this was by far my favorite. The beaches were beautiful, the people were friendly, and there was so much to do. The one downside- everything was just as expensive as it is in the States, especially food and drinks. BUT, the views make it all worth it!

This hotel is absolutely breathtaking! It is located right on the beach and has great restaurants, a spa, a downtown shuttle, and contemporary rooms.

1. Papaya Salad (Som Tum)
2. Pork Satay (Moo Ping)
3. Pad Thai
4. Fried Yellow Noodles w/ Chicken or Shrimp
5. Pancake (Roti)
6. Tom Yam Goong (Spicy and Sour Soup)
7. Massaman Curry

1. Hangout on The Beach
Take in all that Phuket has to offer by enjoying some R&R on the beach. Tan, take a swim, kayak, or explore- the options are endless!

2. Suwannakuha (Buddha Cave Temple)
Explore this temple buried deep inside a cave. Make sure to feed the monkeys while you're there. Warning- they will grab any food you have so keep it high!

3. Kayaking
We did this on the way to the James Bond Island, but there are many different places you can go. This was an awesome experience!

4. James Bond Island
Hop in a long tail boat and head towards James Bond Island. Once you get there, explore and get a picture of the famous rock.

5. Phi Phi Island
This place is heaven on earth! Take a speed boat out to Phi Phi and explore some of the surrounding islands as well. Be sure to snorkel!

6. Lady Boys Show
The Lady Boys are very famous in Thailand. They put on a great show in Phuket with a mix of American, Thai, and other international songs. I swear they are all guys, but they sure fooled me!
