Tidbit Tuesday: Bargain Shopping

Happy Tuesday y'all! I have decided to introduce a new weekly segment called "Tidbit Tuesday". These tidbits will consist of tips, tricks, and random things that interest me (& hopefully you!). Well here goes the first one (it's a little long but trust me, it's worth it). I hope y'all enjoy reading and please let me know if there is anything you would want me to talk about in the future!

Bargain Shopping

So for my first "Tidbit Tuesday" I have decided to talk about my favorite stores to find deals & steals. Because I travel around the city a lot for work, I get the chance to search high and low for the best deals in Atlanta. I'm also including apps, because I mean who doesn't love to be able to shop without having to leave the house? No one.

Alexis Suitcase (Buckhead) - This is a hit or miss consignment store located on Peachtree Road. They have a great selection of slightly worn clothing. They carry all different brands from J.Crew to Louboutin. It's also a great place to take your unwanted clothes. If you use your credit in the store, they give you a percentage off of your purchase.

TJ Maxx (Buckhead, Perimeter, Cobb Parkway-Smyrna) - I absolutely love TJ Maxx. I find some of the best deals here. I always head to the clearance section first because they usually have some great items hidden there. I usually avoid "The Runway" because that stuff is still too expensive for me. I stick to the "Contemporary Brand" signs and look through the racks. They also usually have good purses & shoes.

Rag O Rama (Little Five Points) - Ok so the area isn't the nicest but I mean hey, it's Little Five Points. Rag O Rama is another hit or miss place. It is a little more on the hipster side but you can find some great, unique finds here. I've found Patagonia jackets, LL Bean duck boots, social clothes, cowboy boots, etc. If you're in the area, you've got to at least check it out because you'll never know what you'll find!

Warehouse Sales - I've only gone to Annie Griffin's warehouse sale here in Atlanta, but it was absolutely amazing! I'm always on the hunt for more but they are hard to find. I found out about the Annie Griffin sale through Instagram so I would suggest following your favorite brands incase they ever have anything. I got things so marked down, I felt like I was stealing them!

Off Saks (Discover Mills & North Georgia) - This is a great store to shop when they have a sale going on, which really is like every day. Also, if you sign up for the More Card then you get an extra percent off your purchase. This is a great go to for jeans, purses, and cute tops/dresses. I never buy shoes from here because they're usually still pretty expensive. The best time to go is when the clearance is an extra 50% off...score!

Neiman Marcus Last Call (Buckhead & Discover Mills) - This is very similar to Off Saks. Same items about the same prices, maybe a little more but sometimes their sales are better. The store in Buckhead is a boutique store so they don't have much. It's definitely more expensive than the Discover Mills location but they carry Kendra Scott jewelry at discounted prices. The Discover Mills location is located right next to Off Saks so it makes it easy to compare prices. They have a great selection of clothes and fancy dresses. Shoes are still super expensive.

Nordstrom Rack (Perimeter & Buckhead) - During their extra 25% off sale is the best time to go. They carry some great brands and since Nordstrom also owns Hautlook, these stores get all the returns or items that didn't end up selling (the best items!). If you go before the sale and save your receipt, they will honor the 25% off clearance items once the sale starts. This store is a great go to for basically everything.

Macy's (Buckhead, North Point, & Perimeter) - Macy's is great when they are having extra off clearance. They have a ton of Free People usually on sale as well as Bar III. It helps if you have a Macy's card because you get extra coupons.

J. Crew Outlet (North Georgia) - Love love love this store. I always leave with way too much but it's such a good deal I can't resist. The store is always on sale and if you still have your student ID you can get 10% off a non-sale item. Their clearance is usually pretty good and even better when it's extra off.

Kate Spade Outlet (North Georgia) -  This store is great for purses, jewelry, & tech accessories. Not so much the clothes but that's just me. If you go around holidays they will have the sale on extra sale and it's glorious. You'll want to buy the whole store so be careful!

Dillard's (Perimeter & Atlantic Station) - Ok so I know it's Dillard's, but they really have some great stuff at these locations, especially since no one really goes there looking for high end items. As always, the best time to go is when they have an extra percentage off their sale but even without, they still have pretty good prices. They have a great selection of Lilly and Free People as well as less known brands (Sugar Lips, Gianni Bini, MM Couture, etc.). They also have great shoe sales and accessories.

Poshmark (App) - This is probably my most favorite (currently) way to get deals. It's an app so you can always shop off your phone or tablet. You do have to shop around and there is a lot, but you can get cute stuff for cheap. I've gotten shoes and clothes off here that were brand new and half the in-store price. It helps to "like" items that you would possibly buy so when prices are lowered you are notified. If it's a hot item though, it goes fast and can be sold in seconds. I also use this site for listing my unwanted clothes so be sure to check out my closet (@smwrightt) and like some of my stuff.

Happy hunting!
