Tidbit Tuesday: Travel Essentials

With my trip to Europe a few days away, I decided to share my list of top travel essentials that will be making the trip with me. Hopefully these will help make my long flight a little more bearable!

Body wipes - These babies help keep me fresh and clean at all times. Simply open, wipe where needed and voila, all refreshed.

Oil wipes - These are a life savor! Just wipe across your face and these things absorb all the oil. Now your face is ready for a fresh layer of makeup.

Make up - These are an essential to refresh after a long flight. I keep some face powder, blushconcealer, and mascara on hand at all times. Just re-apply right before landing and you will feel and look like a whole new woman.

Phone charger - Keep one of these fully charged with you at all times so you don't end up with a dead phone.

Book, magazine, sudoku - Stay entertained during your flight with any of these.

Chapstick, moisturizer, and eye drops - Flights seriously dry me out so these items are a necessity to help rejuvenate my body.

Gum - My ears pop so much during take off and landing, so I always have a stick of gum handy for those times.

Headphones - Block out any unwanted noise with some tunes. You can use your phone or inflight music.

Scarf, sweater, and socks - Flights are always cold so carry these items with you to help stay warm. The scarf or sweater can also work as a pillow!

Snacks and water - These are essential, especially for long flights. Airports let you bring as much food as you want, as long as it isn't liquid. Bring bars, nuts, crackers, etc. to help fight hunger during your flight. Also, make sure to bring an empty water bottle to fill up once you get through security.

Chorizo, Sweet Potato, & Caramelized Onion Frittata

What You Need
1 sweet potato
1 large, yellow onion
1/2 lb chorizo
1/4 cup ghee (or butter)
2 TBS ghee (or butter)
1/4 TSP salt
6 eggs
1/2 TSP paprika
1 TSP garlic powder
1/2 TSP sea salt, separated

1. Slice the onions into thin half moon like ribbons. Heat 1/4 cup ghee in a pan over low heat. Add onions to pan and coat with ghee. Let these cook for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes. Stir in 1/4 TSP salt after first 10 minutes.
2. Preheat oven to 400° and grease a 9 inch pie pan. Peel sweet potato and cut up into very thin slices.
3. Heat a skillet over medium high heat and add 2 TBS of ghee. Add sweet potato and toss to coat. Let them cook for about 10 minutes, or until soft, stirring occasionally.
4. Once sweet potato is cooked, spread out over bottom of greased baking dish.
5. In same skillet used to cook sweet potato, add chorizo and cook until crumbled up and cooked through. Add on top of sweet potato in greased dish.
6. Once onions are cooked, add on top of chorizo.
7. In small bowl, whisk together eggs. Add in paprika, garlic powder, and 1/4 TSP salt. Pour egg mixture over everything in the greased dish. Make sure everything is covered.
8. Bake in oven for 20-25 minutes or until eggs are cooked and slight browning on top. Let sit for 5 minutes before serving.
9. Enjoy!

We've Made It!

It's the freaking weekend...wahoo! I hope you all have had a fabulous week. Mine was very busy, I had a manufacture in town but now it's time to wine down (see what I did there) and relax. It's actually going to turn out to be a pretty weekend here so I plan on spending it with friends outside. See you all Monday!

Tidbit Tuesday: Instagram Round Up

Happy Tuesday, everyone! For this Tidbit Tuesday, I have decided to do an Instagram round up all the fun things i've been up to lately. I hope you enjoy!!

(from left to right)
Gracie & I: This past weekend, the family and I went up to the lake for some fun in the sun. We decided last minute, so we packed up the car, Gracie, and headed up. On Friday night we had wine and cheese on the boat and enjoyed Mellow Mushroom pizza once we got back (I was in cheese heaven). We did half Kosmic Karma and half Funky Q and boy let me tell you, it was amazing! Saturday we tanned and then had friends over for dinner. We rode around on the boat and had homemade margaritas..aka best thing ever. It was a great weekend!

Me & Friends: Last week, my friends, Connor and Jhadelys, and I went out for cocktails. We went to Whiskey Blue located on top of the W in Buckhead. It was so much fun chatting with them and trying some great cocktails (great mojitos). The space was awesome as well. They had a great roof top bar and inside space. I definitely recommend it!

Wine Bottle & Glasses: A couple weekends ago, my friend Connor and I had our own bar crawl around Atlanta. We went from Ladybird, to Hop City, to Pour Wine Bar, and ended at Verde Taqueria. It was a great day that was long over due!

Anna & Me On The Beach: This was during our Oregon Trip. We drove out to Cannon Beach to see Haystack Rock (The Goonies Rock). It was a beautiful drive up the coast and the rock was absolutely breathtaking! We also stopped at the cheese factory earlier in the day...yum!

Yoga In The Park: King of Pops has free yoga in the park on Tuesday nights in the Old Fourth Ward skate park. I had never done yoga before, but I had been wanting to give it a try. I am so glad I did because it was so peaceful and fun! I went with some friends and we got there early enough that we got great spots up close (so I could try and figure out what to do). Afterwards, we treated ourselves to a pop and strolled around the park. It was a great Tuesday!

Puppies & Donut: This was from a couple weeks ago after my sister and I went to the farmers market. Strolling around farmers markets is probably one of my favorite things to do on the weekends, and this weekend we went to the Peachtree Road farmers market. In my opinion, it is the best farmers market in the area. They have so many vendors with greta product. While we were there, we picked up some donut puppy treats...they didn't last long.

Anna & Me In Seaside: This was a spontaneous beach trip over Memorial Day weekend. Luckily, my sister got a week of from school so we decided to head down to the beach. One of the nights, we went to Seaside, had dinner, and explored the area. Seaside was a huge part of my childhood and a place I will never forget. We use to go down there at least twice a year growing up and so many memories were made. It was nice to go back and see how much it has grown over the past year.

Cooking Out: This was also during our beach trip. For Memorial Day, we cooked out turkey burgers and topped them with pineapple. We also made some delicious sweet potato fries on the side. It was all absolutely delicious! We also got to grill out while looking over the ocean. I couldn't of asked for a better view!

Gracie & I: This was another day of exploring the Piedmont farmers market. We took Gracie this time and strolled around. We picked up some juices and had a little picnic in the grass. It was a great day!

Happy Friday everyone and happy almost weekend! Less than 24 hours stands between you and the weekend...and I plan on doing a lot of the above!
