How To Build A Charcuterie Board

If you didn't know already, charcuterie boards are one of my favorite things in the whole world! It combines all the best things to bring so much flavor and variety to a simple appetizer. With the help of Davidson's Organics, i've created the ultimate charcuterie board guide. I've rounded up my favorite cheeses, meats and other additions to add to your board to keep everyone satisfied. Hopefully this guide will help you build your best board at your next get together!

Top Cheeses
+ Brie
+ Merlot Cheese
+ Blue Cheese or Gorgonzola
+ Sharp White Cheddar
+ Gouda
+ Truffle Cheese

Top Meats
+ Prosciutto
+ Salami
+ Pepperoni
+ Paté

Other Additions
+ Davidson's Organics Chai Tea Jelly
+ Davidson's Organics Chai Tea Chocolate
+ Berries, grapes and other fruit
+ Crackers

Now, grab your cute serving plate (if you don't have one, check out my favorite below) and get ready to plate your cheese, meats and other additions. To start, cram as much onto the board as you can. The closer the better! Try to separate each cheese with some type of meat of other item. It also helps if you go ahead and cut up some of the meats and cheeses. Just play around until your board looks the way you want it to! Finally, grab your cheese spreaders and knives (don't have any of those?! Check out some of my favorites below) and lay them out near the cheeses. Voila, you did it! Now go enjoy!

Sweet Potato Avocado Toast

serves 1

What You Need
1 sweet potato, thinly sliced
1 avocado, smashed
1/4 cup baby spinach chopped
2 slices prosciutto
1 egg
1/2 TSP olive oil
Salt and pepper, to taste
Red pepper chili flakes, to taste

1. Preheat the oven to 400°
2. Thinly slice your sweet potatoes and place them on a parchment lined baking sheet.
3. Brush each side with oil and then cook in oven for 20-25 minutes.
4. Towards the end of the sweet potato cook time, start boiling the water for the eggs. Poach them in the water and let cook for 4-6 minutes, depending on your preference. I love to use these bags to make things easier.
5. While the eggs are cooking, heat the olive oil in a medium pan. Add in the slices of prosciutto and let them cook for 1 minute on each side. Set aside on a paper towel lined plate.
6. Once everything is cooked, it's time to assemble. Place your sweet potato toast on your plate and top with the smashed avocado, prosciutto, chopped spinach and then an egg. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes and enjoy!

Hello Weekend!

Wahoo, it is finally Friday!! Luckily for me, this week went by pretty quickly! I flew back from New York Monday and then spent this week catching up on all the things I was behind on. I got a lot done, but will have to hit the ground running next week!

I am super excited for this weekend, because I have a lot of birthday celebrations going on! Tonight I am trying out a new spot (for me) in downtown Decatur and then tomorrow I am celebrating with friends with drinks and dinner. It should be an eventful weekend! What are y'all up to this weekend?

Places To Visit: Revolution Gelato

Happy Tuesday, y'all! Today, I wanted to introduce you to Revolution Gelato- a local Atlanta shop that makes dairy-free gelato that is delicous, healthier, and plant friendly. If you haven't already heard of them, you've really been missing out!

I got to go check out their shop in EAV last week and fell in love with their food and concept. A few years ago, I decided to start cutting back on dairy to help clear my skin and cleanse my body. I still occasionally have cheese and ice cream, but other that that I try and stay dairy-free. A problem I come up against a lot, is that it is so hard to find a delicious dairy-free ice cream or gelato.

Luckily, Revolution Gelato solves this problem! Their gelato really doesn't skimp on flavor, texture, or taste. With their wide range of flavors including Cardamom Kiss, Majestic Mango, Nekkid Espresso, Triple Vanilla, Chocolate Fantasy, and Orange Dream, they have something for everyone. You can visit them at their EAV shop or buy their flavors by the pint from Whole Foods and Earth Fare.

During my visit, I got to taste Cardamom Kiss, Nekkid Espresso, and Chocolate Fantasy. If you couldn't tell, I am not a fruity ice cream person! I got all three of these delicious flavors topped with caramel sauce and cookie dough, to make an amazing flavor combination!

I promise this tastes even better than it looks (if you can even believe that)! Next time you are in the mood for a dessert, but want something that is still good for your body head down to Revolution Gelato and give some of their amazing flavors a try! I promise you will not be disappointed!
