My 2019 Goals


Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had an amazing and work free past two weeks. Mine was filled with family, friends, food and lots of relaxation. I am now refreshed and ready to tackle 2019! 

At the end of each year, I make a list of resolutions that I want to try and achieve in the upcoming year. I definitely don't always stick to them, but I like attempting to better myself and the world around me in the new year. Let's see how well I can keep up with these!

1. Read more books 
Currently readin: The Woman in Cabin 10. My goal is to read one chapter a night before I go to bed.

2. Don't be a people pleaser
I'll be the first to admit that I am "too nice". I want to try to start standing up for myself more and asking for what I want.

3. Eat cleaner and drink less
Now that the holidays are over, I want to cut back on drinking and restart my non-processed food diet. I feel my best when I eat mostly organic, gluten free, dairy free and sugar free.

4. Finish updating my condo
I still have so much to do and have been putting it off. This year I want to get my never ending list of updates checked off. 

5. Start meditating
I downloaded the Mindfulness and Headspace apps. I have only used Mindfulness so far, but I will switch to Headspace soon to decide which one I like better. I plan on starting each day with guided meditation and taking breaks throughout the day to just breath and be present. 

6. Start a gratitude journal
I ordered the 90-Day Gratitude Journal from Amazon. I want to start focusing more on the positives in my life and starting each day with good vibes. 

7. Kill it at work
If you didn't know, I am a sales rep full time. I sell furniture, lighting, accessories, fabrics, etc. for the hospitality and commercial industry. I work under my mom, but I recently picked up two lines for myself in our market. I want to grow these brands and really start the year off strong. 

8. Grow North of Peachtree's Instagram
I want to continue to grow my Instagram by creating more unique content. I will be scaling back a little from the blog to focus more on this. Instead of posting 5 days a week, I will now be posting 3. I want to spend my time creating quality content instead of quantity.

9. Get 7-8 hours of sleep each night
I have gotten so bad about going to bed later and later and trying to wake up early. I always end up tired and can never catch up on sleep. I want to try and start getting 7-8 hours of sleep each night so that I am more refreshed each morning. 

10. Do yoga once a week
Along with meditation, I want to start implementing yoga into my workout routine. For me, it is very peaceful and helps me destress. I don't go to a fancy gym, so the yoga options are slim. I plan on trying some classes out online and finding a decently priced studio to attend. 

11. Get better at expressing myself and opening up to others
I am a very reserved person when it comes to opening up with my thoughts and feelings. I want to work on communicating that better instead of bottling it up and not addressing the problems at hand. 

12. Stop comparing my life to others
This is so bad, especially on social media. I want to stop comparing myself to others and just live for me.

13. Do one thing a day that gets you out of your comfort zone
I get anxiety from time to time and by doing something I am scared of or that makes me uncomfortable helps ease that. 

14. Disconnect more from social media/technology
I am the worst when it comes to endlessly browsing social media when I am bored and sleeping with my phone next to me at night. I want to try and disconnect for at least an hour a day, 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes before bed. 

15. Stick to your budget
Christmas is over and my bank account is hurting. Time to start sticking to my budget so that I can save money for renovations or a trip.
